Reishinkan Kendo Club is very unique for Sydney in that it delivers Kendo in its true spirit, all instructors having decades of experience gained within the respective environments of the traditional Japanese dojos. Reishinkan offers exposure to the very essence of Kendo - seemingly simple and yet very sophisticated, challenging and rewarding to both the beginners and the more advanced players. Here, at Reishinkan, it becomes ever so clear that Kendo is a life-long journey, michi, with no limit to individual development. Friendly and dedicated members of this boutique school of traditional Japanese fencing are always happy to have new players of various skill levels joining their team.

Reishinkan has always been supportive and positive. It has always been a great time training with all the people here. Especially the senpai who always think of new patterns and search for new ways of teaching. Everyone is nice and polite during and after training which naturally creates a comfortable but competitive atmosphere. It is a good platform to focus on what is needed to be improved and also discover weak points to be work on. Reishinkan is a very genki dojo and a nice place to train at.

The Sunday morning class has been perfect for me, being the only real regular training time I can attend. The dojo also has a lot of other members who also have family and work commitments, so everybody is quite understanding when it comes to a time I cannot attend a class or if I need to leave early. The training structure at Reishinkan is very different: my Kendo style prior to coming to Reishinkan was very ‘raw’ and ’over powering’ for most people. Now I've started to cut back on the power work on my Waza. I feel it is very slowly becoming more refined. Yet it still as long way to go. So once again I’m am very thankful to Reishinkan.

I am relatively new to Kendo and visited 3 schools before joining the Reishinkan Kendo Club; I have practiced another martial art for some years and understand the importance of finding a school that feels right for you. I found teachers and students at Reishinkan to be friendly and accepting of me as a novice; their skill, experience and teaching methods have helped me to progress quite quickly in understanding the principles and etiquette of kendo and have no hesitation in recommending this school to both novice and experienced kendo players alike. I would like to take this opportunity to thank teachers and fellow students for their tuition and welcoming me to their martial family.

Having joined Reishinkan for only a few months, I had a great time training there. The dojos were adequate and I enjoyed cleaning the floor at Roseville doing it the old school way. The training sessions were intense and everyone was in full spirits every time I attended. Best of all, I'm very happy and grateful to have such wonderful teachers to guide and train us. I hope to continue to train at Reishinkan in the future
